"She has given us invaluable tips on dealing with the more trying stages of childhood and has even taken our toddler for an occasional outing to give us a little quiet time with our new baby. She has made it her life's work to understand little ones, and it shows."
~Kim, parent
A postpartum doula is there to help a new family in those first days and weeks after a new baby arrives. No matter how baby arrived, it is a transition for everyone at home. Typical Postpartum services include, but are not limited to, help with self-care recovery, postpartum comfort measures, infant care, parenting information and assistance with learning to feed and take care of your baby, as well as other practical services. These services may last anywhere from a few days to a few months. Postpartum doulas may assist during the day or night as they help the family transition into life with an infant.
Often a partner has to head back to work and leaves an exhausted, bleary-eyed birth person to trudge through the day with the new arrival. Simple tasks like taking a shower, throwing a load of laundry in, or even making a meal can seem overwhelming and daunting. But you don't have to do this alone!
With continued support for families as they navigate through the early stages and the fourth trimester, Bekah is here to help each family in those challenging moments. Adding an extra hand from an expert makes the daily tasks manageable and allows for some rest, healing and building confidence in parenting skills. We may find that we face a new challenge with a second, third of fourth child that we didn't have with our earlier babies. Easing the sibling transition is part of a postpartum doula's work!
